‘Wipe Away Those Tears’ is a charity established back in 2006 with the sole aim of bringing a sparkle into the lives of special children, no matter how big or small.

In the past two years, the charity has not wavered in support of our special children and young people here at Columbus and has been generous in the extreme in granting wishes that have had a very positive impact on the quality of life for those students and their families.

In summary they have funded:

  • £6,860 on specially adapted trikes
  • £535 on Theatre Trips
  • £1,100 on Garden Play equipment
  • £3,078 on Sensory equipment
  • £620 on Horse-riding lessons

A grand total of over £12000!

The above expenditure was on individual children.  However, in addition to this generosity, the charity paid for and supplied both campuses with 20 i-Pads, which have been invaluable as a teaching aid, especially to our more profoundly disabled students as they are so versatile and accessible.

Not only has the charity made the application process as simple as possible, but the speed with which they make a definitive decision as to the success of the application ensures the wish is granted quickly, with no lengthy delays.

Columbus would like to take this opportunity to extend its gratitude for their outstanding contribution and support of our very special students.  They really do change lives.

We wish them well with all their future endeavours! Thank you.
